Bringing history into the future

As citizens move into the digital space, the Danish Parliament has an ever-increasing need to meet them there. Through a comprehensive strategic phase, an institution wishing to signal credibility, openness and orderliness, while respecting history emerged. The resulting identity consists of elements found throughout Christiansborg Palace. The colours are taken from the flower frieze in the Walking Hall. The typeface, strongly inspired by the features of the 1915 Constitution. The patterns used within the identity are based on chairs found in the Parliament Hall or carpets from the entrance hall. Together, these elements form a distinctive contemporary expression anchored in a rich heritage.
